The Refining Co. is a registered nonprofit that operates 212 Generation (212generation.com) and 212 Revival (212revival.com). This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. If you have a question about anything here, write to us at info@212generation.com.
We collect only what we need to fill an order, process a gift, or answer a question:
Card payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
We will only text you if you have given us your phone number and expressly agreed to receive text messages, either by checking the box at checkout or by telling a member of our staff directly in the course of working with us. We do not buy phone numbers, and we do not text people who have not asked us to.
Texts from us are one of the following:
Message frequency varies and is low. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts from us, or HELP for help. Stopping texts will not affect your order, your gift, or your access to anything you have purchased.
Consenting to text messages is never a condition of buying anything or of giving. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
We use your information to fill your order, send your receipt, answer your questions, and keep records our nonprofit is required to keep. We share it only with the services that make those things work: Stripe for payments, Lulu for printing and shipping books, our email and text message providers, and our accounting system.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. Phone numbers and text message consent are never shared with third parties for their own purposes.
You can ask us at any time to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can unsubscribe from email using the link in any message we send, and stop texts by replying STOP. Write to info@212generation.com and a person will answer you.
Our curriculum is written for students, but our store and giving pages are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will remove it.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
